Social services staff made possible by a grant from the Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation

Staff

Most of our staff members are volunteers.

Employees:

We are grateful for program funding from the Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation, which has enabled us to hire two part-time Social Services Coordinators. Read the press release here.

Alison Todd-Houghton, LICSW, (right in photo) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a private practice and experience in hospital and school settings. She has experience with brain tumor survivors, and she will soon complete her doctorate in Social Work at Boston College. Her role at T.H.E. BRAIN TRUST is to coordinate, train and support the facilitators of our many online groups (including those for survivors of meningiomas, adults with ependymomas and brain stem gliomas, plus many more). She is new to our Organization and is very excited about getting started. She says, "I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic Organization, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible."

April Bradick, M.Ed., (left in photo) is a mental health counselor specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, who has a special interest in how the brain affects behavior and emotion. She has recently done graduate work in Neuroanatomy, and has extensive computing experience. As the Assistant Social Services Coordinator, she will help with the online groups and, via a grant from the Philip R. Jonsson Foundation, she will manage the content of our website.

We are grateful for contributions from our donors who fund the position of our Office Manager:

Atsuko Ito initially came to volunteer at T.H.E. BRAIN TRUST because she wanted to contribute her experience and skills from her job in Japan as senior staff in Human Resources at the Japanese headquarters of a major American investment bank. After volunteering for nearly 2 years, we hired her, because we would have been lost without her if she left to find employment elsewhere. She was away for some time to have a baby, and we are delighted that she has returned. Her first name "Atsuko" in Japanese means "warm-hearted", and it's so true! We are definitely blessed with her presence, along with our "youngest volunteer".
