MRC will purchase computers for people who need to use them for rehabilitation in returning to work or school. You must become a Mass Rehab Client in your region and make a return to work plan.

Tip: Your state or area may have other organizations like these. In the U.S. your local United Way office may have some suggestions.

Tip: Some organizations have long waiting lists for loaner computers. Explain that you have a brain tumor or cancer and tell them what you will be using it for.

Once the infrastructure is in place our "BRAIN TRUST Buddies Program" will match people and companies who want to donate computers with patients and families in their communities who need them. We hope to help people more quickly and effectively by developing efficient distribution strategies, buddy training programs and buddy follow-up.

Sci-Tek, in New Hampshire has low cost refurbished computers. Pentiums for about $500

Tip: Web based email services such as

Yahoo http://mail.yahoo.com or

Hotmail www.hotmail.com

can be used at public terminals.
