Audrey's Umbrella

Audrey's Umbrella is a charitable mail program, designed to support people living with a brain tumor by sending happy and encouraging mail.

Audrey's Umbrella/The Healing Exchange Mail Program will feature new people each month who are living with a brain tumor. Our featured friends receive cheerful cards, friendly letters, and small thoughtful gifts.

Who can send cards?
Everyone! Individuals, Family, Friends, Church Groups, Scout Troops, Students, Schools, Stampers and Scrapbooking Groups.

What kind of cards can I send?
Happy Cards! Thinking of You - You're Special - Have a fun day! (We do not send "Get Well" cards or religious material, as this may upset some recipients.)

Where do I send the cards?
Mail may be sent directly to our featured friends. Addresses are provided to volunteers on the list. Email bonnie@braintrust.org to request membership access to mailing list.

Is this a pen pal program?
Responses of any kind are never expected from our Featured Friends. We understand that they may be having a difficult time. Our goal is to send postal joy - no strings attached.

How do I sign on as a volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer by visiting our website www.braintrust.org/audrey and writing to the featured friends c/o AU. If you are interested in becoming an active participating volunteer I encourage you to sign onto our mailing list.

Send an email to audreysumbrella@braintrust.org. You need to give your
1) full name
2) home mailing address
3) email address
(Information is for our files only and will not be shared.)

You will then receive an automated email invitation. Reply to it and you will be signed on to our volunteer mailing list.
*Volunteers on the mailing list receive emails about our featured friends, updates, birthday lists, and other special assignments.

We also offer a very special volunteer opportunity with our Fairy Program. Volunteers adopt an AU friend for a season and agree to send that friend mail once a week for a period of three months:

- Autumn Harvest Fairies: September, October, November
- Winter Holiday Fairies: December, January, February
- Spring Blossom Fairies: March, April, May
- Summer Sunshine Fairies: June, July, August

Is there a way I can help other than sending cards?
Absolutely! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations to The Healing Exchange Brain Trust are always warmly welcome. Just write Audrey's Umbrella in the memo line, and send to the P.O. box noted above.

Feel free to contact Bonnie Vendola for further information, to make a referral, volunteer, or donate: bonnie@braintrust.org
