I know I am a little late with this response... just saw the posting.
Our then 22 year old daughter had sudden onset seizures four years ago, diagnosed as anaplastic oligodendroglioma, subtotally resected August '96, with follow up chemotherapy (the standard PCV for one year). She had moderate response to the chemo, in that the residual tumor did not shrink very much... but we have been greatly encouraged by the fact that the tumor has shown no indication of growth during the entire time since surgery. The tumor was in her left frontal lobe, and was quite large, more than 10 cm in length. The residual tumor is in the motor and speech areas of her brain.

She made the decision early on not to surrender to this thing in any way... she barely has let it slow her down since recovering from the craniotomy. She went on to graduate from college, began her teaching career, married a fellow teacher last summer and has already presented us with our first grandchild. I hope this encourages you! Our daughter's quality of life is excellent, and her optimism has inspired all who know her.

Good luck!
