My Mom's newly diagnosed Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma

Any one out there who has info on this type of tumor, please write!!! Mom had a seizure on 12/4/99, MRI showed a "lesion." It was removed stereotactically on 12/20. The 1.5cm tumor was a malignant Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma. It was on her right temporal lobe, and she is right handed, Thank God. Besides this 1 seizure, she is not, and never was symptomatic. We start Radiation Therapy on Monday 2/7/00. I believe her tumor is a GRADE 2, but am not sure. What can we expect??? Aside from getting over being absolutely devastated, Mom (as are we--family)is tough, and ready to conquer this thing head on. Any info on a local support group for families, and patients, would be greatly appreciated as well. We are in Northern NJ, close to NYC. I am also afraid to ask the "prognosis" and "how long" questions, although her Neuro- Onc. seems very optimistic, and positive, stating that he believes we can keep ontop of this for "decades." We are aware of the high recurrence rate, and as long as there are always treatment options like surgery, chemo. etc, we can "live" w/ that. Please write--e-mail that is, or post!!!
