Mark, I too have similar experiences. I know dilanton mess's with a lot of things. I have had days that I bounce off the walls, and days I can't remember two minutes ago. I've been clinically toxic many times, without ever changing the dose.
I try to keep my blood level around 12, I do the best there, although I still have seizures.

Chemo has actually reduced the levels to as low as 8, and boy do I feel good at 8!! But the seizures are worse.. what a trade off...

I know that they give dilanton as protocol after surgery,(just in case) so you may not need it after they make their assessments. I'd keep after them to reduce it, if they can. I'm always telling my neurologist I want to get off all the meds. Just long enough to feel normal again. I forget what normal felt like. 8 years on dilanton, and every other anti-seiezure med known, and still never got the siezures under control.

I'm currently taking 550mg Dilanton and 1200mg Neurontin. along with St. John's wort.

stay stong,
s
