Hello Mats.From your description it sounds like your sister was diagnosed with what is called a glioblastoma. There are several sites on the net that will give you a great deal of information about this tumor along with other tumors and treatments in general. The only ones that I am aware of are in English, so I hope that this will work for you. Without additional information it is difficult to say what kind of treatments the doctors are referring to in the States as being new. There are clinical trials in which some newer treatments are being tested, but to date the therapy of surgery followed by radiation therapy and then chemotherapy with either BCNU or CCNU is the most effective one that medicine has to offer.
