I can imagine all the questions you have. Two years ago, my husband (43 years of age) was diagnosed with a brain tumor on the frontal lobe of the brain. Within a week and a half, he'd undergone a CAT scan, MRI, appointment with a neurosurgeon, second opinion with another neurosurgeon, and surgery to remove the tumor which was then typed as an oligodendroglima. The surgeon who ultimately did the surgery was 97 percent sure he'd gotten the whole tumor, especially since he was blessed with it being most exterior to the brain tissue. And where it invaded the actual tissue was a very quiet part that they were able to also remove that tissue. He followed up after a recovery period with 6 straight weeks of radiation, and 3 cycles (6 months) of chemo although the oncologist wanted him to do 6 cycles (1 year). We were very blessed. He was totally symptom free before hand, and actually presented with a five day bout of vomiting. The original CAT scan was done to rule out any other problems. There was NO signal of what we were dealing with.
Two years later, now he is still free of any recurrence. We take each day one at a time, and be thankful for it. There is HOPE as his tunor also was sitting on the nerve that would have paralyzed his left leg if it had been damaged, and blessed be, he is fine. Actually, he's never seizured at all. They told him that he could actually have driven himself home from the surgery stay, when they discharged him 1 1/2 days later!!! Keep your faith up, your chin up, and do exactly what took you to this site. Research!!! Check for clinical trials, ask on chat boards, and develop a good relationship with your doctor. Be up front and ask all the questions you really want to know the answers to, and skip the rest. Good luck!!! Keep your nutrition up, and your spirits!
