julie my father was diagnosed in dec of 96 with a class 5 glioblastoma at that time my family and i did not know what to do. we opted for external radiation. after about 30 treatments not much changed. in march of 97 we had another mri, it was bad news. we then decided to be more agressive so we took him to staten island university for surgery and more refined radiation treatment. that was about the first of april. around the first of may i got the best birthday present of my life, my father came home and seemed to be better. summer went by and we had hopes of the best. things started going downhill towards the end of august. had another mri again the news was not good. my mother and i took him back to staten island in september and they did more radiation. by know our family realized the end was near. we arranged for hospice care and made my dad as comfortable as we could. my father went to be with the lord on november 11 1997 he was 65 years young. one of the only good things about this terrible disease if there is such a thing is that we had a long time to say goodbuy. and everytime i saw him i told him i loved him. but maybe it's not goodbuy, maybe it's just see you later. see you later dad, i love you. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your dad julie, tell him you love him.
