I would suggest you to look into thalidomide, or Thalomid. It can have a BAD REACTION WITH STEROIDS, so make sure he is not on them. It slows a lot of the cognitive impairment gbm patients eventually get and can prolong life in 1/3-1/5 of refractory patients. Normally, gbm patients only live a few months, but some patients on thal with advanced disease have lived a year or more. It is not yet approved for cancer. In the meantime, get a prescription from a sympathetic doctor who is already using it and knows dosing, etc.

If this fails, you can get a prescription for Celebrex -- widely given for arthritic symptoms -- which is a milder anti-angiogenic. Doctors will give you a prescription over the phone or you can get it on the internet. Just do a search for it.

Bottom line: This is a very deadly disease that thus far has not been able to be helped much if at all by the conventional drugs or radiation. Thal is something new to try that can help symptoms and prolong life. Until better anti-angiogenic drugs -- or other cures -- are available, this is a good bet.
